10 Home Office Chairs We Love
Wedding Decor Inspiration Board – Vintage Romance
Who’s looking for wedding decor inspiration! If you love a romantic vinatge feel, this look may be for you. Key elements of this look are lace, peonies, vintage metallics, and a neutral palate with subtle peach hues. This look lends itself to handmade favours and table decor. The lace coverlets on the invitations would be so simple to make and are probably my favourite element to this concept! Happy planning!
Inspiration Mood Board
Mood boards are a collection of pictures, quotes, sketches, fabric and colour swatches used to convey a design concept to a client in a fun, abstract way. I make a solid effort to capture and save anything that inspires me throughout my day to day life. Above is a collage of some photos, that as a designer get my creative juices flowing! Sometimes, inspiration can be found in the strangest of places…like a blue chain link fence!
DIY Winter Arrangements
Click thumbnails for more info.
I always find fresh flowers add a lot to a space. In the winter it’s nice to have a little ‘life’ around the house. I threw together a few simple arrangements that are both cheap (I found the berries and greenery in my back alley…shhh) and cheerful. Combine a few of them together and you have beautiful DIY florals for a winter wedding. Try them yourself, give them as a gift, be creative, and have fun!
Office Design Trends
I recently attended a seminar at Buildex in Vancouver about the future of office design. It inspired me to look at the current trends in office design and how it is changing the modern workplace. Here are some of the key points that I noted during the seminar and through further research into the best of office design.
- Open spaces are key to better communication and collaboration in the workplace.
- Breakout areas to work away from the desk like comfortable lounges, group tables, and activity areas, are being used to connect employees in different ways and create a home away from home environment.
- Further research into common building materials that are harmful to humans is being conducted and utilized in office design in order to create healthier environments for employees.
- Sustainable design is becoming the standard for successful office design.
- Office Design, one of the main pillars of office culture, is helping to attract and retain a new generation in the workforce.
- Globalization creates the need for spaces to be flexible in order to accomodate travelling employees who need casual places to work and collaborate with different branches seamlessly.
- Office spaces are now incorporating multi-functional spaces that can be used for private and public events in addition to company wide meetings instead of having to rent expensive spaces outside of the office in order to do so.

DIY Valentine’s Day Cards
In my house growing up, handmade cards were encouraged for all occasions. I’ve made so many over the years that I’ve grown to really love it. Handmade cards are from the heart! Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to make a card for someone special. Here are a few ideas and tricks to make your own!
You will need: Pretty Paper (try arts and craft stores like Michael’s, Deserres, Paper-Ya, or Opus), scissors, a glue stick, thin cardstock, a pencil, a ruler (preferably a square triangle) and an exacto knife for some designs.
Tip #1: Fold thin cardboard in half and draw half a heart. Cut it out and use it to trace even hearts on your nice paper. You can make various sizes for different designs.
Tip #2: Use a scrap piece of paper to glue on so you can get right to the edges and not worry about getting glue everywhere!
Tip #3: Use a cutting board from your kitchen to trim things with an exacto knife and use a triangle ruler to get square edges.
Good luck and have fun! Your friends and family will be so impressed!
PS. Click the pictures for a description on how I made each card.
